Earrings
As Seen On…
Assya pieces have been spotted at a number of high profile events this week adorning the arms, fingers and ears of two glamourous ladies, Clara Paget and Jodie Kidd.
Jodie Kidd, model, donned Assya’s new Arrow earrings and Rocks bracelet for the Polo last weekend. She looked stunning in her peach dress choosing Assya’s pink tourmaline earrings and bracelet to accent.
Clara Paget, model and actress, stole the show at last night’s Johnnie Walker premiere. She stood out wearing a vibrant pink and red floral dress with Assya’s dramatic Silk Weaved cuff and Cage ring.
SS14 Trend: Fringing and Tassels
The SS14 catwalks were alive with movement thanks to the wealth of tassels and fringing, adorning everything from dresses to capes, and bags to swimwear.
Calvin Klein and Erdem’s approach was ladylike with a nod towards the fringed dresses of the 1920’s, while Valentino & Pucci had an exotic tribal feel.
Accessories weren’t left out either, at Gucci bags were colourful with dramatic fringing reminiscent of the 70’s and Valentino bags also had this feel but with a glamorous edge provided by gold embellishments.
Over at Anya Hindmarch, the star of the show was the Geogianna clutch with oversized tassel, even Anya classics were in for a revamp with a colourful layered tassel. The Tassels are available to buy individually, perfect for adding a touch of tassel to any bag.
Add a touch of tassel and fringe to any outfit with Assya’s Gatsby collection, featuring a range of pieces inspired the 1920’s style combined with an old Italian weaving technique. The long tassel fringe earrings provide and touch of glamour and sophistication and are a favourite of Penny Lancaster and Abby Clancy. Or try Assya’s long silver scarf necklace, as worn by Cameron Diaz for Harpers Bazaar.
SS14 Trend: Statement Earrings
One trend that you cannot escape this season is the statement earring, the SS14 catwalks were awash with oversized chandeliers and hoops adding the finishing touch to elegant ensembles.
Dolce & Gabanna went down the route of Greek/Roman decadence, with models dripping in gold jewellery. The standout pieces were oversized gold hoops complete with golden coins, showcased against stripped back make-up and Grecian updos.
At Oscar de la Renta the earring took centre stage as the sole acessory. Ball gowns came complete with bejeweled chandeliers, in punchy hues of yellow, coral and turquoise, contrasting with or complementing the dress.
Even on the streets the statement earrings reigned supreme, testament to how easy this trend is to pull off. Add a pair to any outfit for an instant on trend up-date. We love wearing ours with the very ‘now’ sports luxe trend, for an interesting high/low contrast. All you need is a sports logo tee, a boyfriend jean (turned up slightly), a stiletto heel, and the crowing glory, a statement earring like the Assya Moonlight earring (below).
Just remember statement earrings work best alone, so strip off all other jewellery, and wear your hair up (a pony tail will suffice) to give the earrings the maximum impact!
